The Chinese Fret Coffee Table was created specially to fill a need in the Niermanns’ own home. “Like the legendary cobbler, I was so busy designing furniture for clients that my own house was bare,” says Joe Niermann. “My wife, Eleanor, finally had to beg for a coffee table. So, on the day before her birthday, I used a classic fret detail to build a base for a favorite old tray. We’ve loved ours for more than 20 years and now offer it to you in indestructible lacquered steel.”
