The Blenheim Console was developed using our unique kind of x-ray vision that enables us to see through the clutter and ornamentation of a piece to the clean, clear lines beneath. When we saw an ornate antique console in a client’s shop, we immediately recognized that its basic elements would make a truly remarkable console on their own. We stripped away the decoration and re-proportioned the console. In our version, each element — from the strong scrolls of the front legs to the gentle curve of the base — is designed to balance the others in a combination of classic archetypes. We finished the console in an original, aged patina found on antiques in European country houses.
